Andrea chooses to shoot only "on-site" preferably at your home where your child is most comfortable and your images will be most personal OR an outdoor location where they feel the freedom to play and be themselves. When I come to your home, my goal is to capture the sweet expressions and things you love about your life---whether it's the joy of a new baby or the beauty of a pregnant belly---each a miracle that words cannot express.

Natural Light? At my house?

On-site photography and natural light are both beautiful things, and what a treat you are in for when you choose to capture your family in their own environment with lighting that reflects their natural skin tones.

I begin every session by first getting to know your family---we'll get out toys, we'll play hide-and-go seek and we'll just have fun! Babies and children are often more comfortable in their own environment, and they are usually very excited about having someone in their home verses going to an unfamilar place.

You don't need to have anything fancy--if you have windows, then you have natural light and that is all I need to create breathetaking images of your child in the lighting that I believe is most flattering on skin tones. Some times we'll just use one spot in your foyer and we'll use several rooms---depending on the best light.

Most children also seem to do really well outdoors, so if your session will take place during a time of year when the weather is nice--consider an outdoor session. Keep in mind if we book an outdoor session, we will also need to have a back-up plan just in case bad weather comes up unexpectedly.

Just relax...and we'll do the rest!

During your session, have fun! Don't worry about perfect poses as I'm very laid back and I will carefully direct those pictured in the best natural lighting. Children often act a bit differently when parents aren't around (aren't you always surprised with your child's teacher says how good they are at school?!)---so feel free to sneak out of the room during the session. This is usually when I get some of my best shots! Some of the most beautiful images are also captured when a child is staring directly in the camera, so if you are in the room, please let me get your child's attention no matter how tempting it may be to make them laugh so we get those smiles. However, there may be some times when I've gotten plenty of one emotion from your little miracle, and when I'm not as funny as I think I am---that's when I may call for back up;) For the most part, your session with Georgia Lane is a chance for you to sit back, relax and simply ENJOY the moment and beauty of your child!
